Premier Nathan Rees has unveiled his latest weapon against failed former Minister John Della Bosca – four failed former Premiers, Shadow Special Minister of State Chris Hartcher said today. Mr Hartcher said yesterday’s media-managed meeting between Nathan Rees and the four former ALP Premiers showed how distracted Nathan Rees had become. “Nathan Rees is running a broken Labor Government and has been pulled further off track by ongoing leadership speculation,” Mr Hartcher said. “His meeting yesterday is proof he has absolutely no plans for the future – all he has to offer is the promise that he will do what each of his predecessors did; fail miserably. “Carr jumped ship and Iemma told us he would fix the mistakes of the past. He didn’t and he was deposed by rookie Premier Nathan Rees, who also promised he would fix the mistakes of the past – again more excuses with no solutions. “Each has distanced himself from his immediate predecessor. The suggestion yesterday’s love-in was even remotely genuine is a farce. “Wran is furious with Iemma and Rees after both failed to stop mining in Wyong and has spoken out publicly against both leaders. “Carr thinks Iemma and Rees are hopeless and has, on a number of occasions, spoken out about the corruption-riddled Government Nathan Rees is running. “Iemma hasn’t forgotten that it was Rees who deposed him with the help of John Della Bosca – the man who now wants the job. “Unsworth can’t have forgotten the ferocity with which Carr trampled over his record as soon as he took the Premiership. “They each failed to deliver for the people of NSW and that’s the only lesson they have to pass on to Nathan Rees. “Instead of planning for the future, Rees is distracted by the present and looking to the past for answers,” Mr Hartcher said.
